Even the lightweights can stick if the charge is too light and the difference between 1000fps and stuck isn't a lot by weight as you work. Going the other way is an invitation to a stuck bullet. When you work up your loads start with a charge that you know will be supersonic and work your way down to subsonic. I know of guys running 110-125 subs in the blackout but they are using much faster powders like unique, blue dot and even as fast as bullseye. HORNADY - BLACK AMMO 300 AAC BLACKOUT 110GR V-MAX 3. AA9 Sierra lists it for super thru sub sonic loadings for 300 whisper. Vihtavuori N120 Sierra lists it for super thru sub sonic loadings for 300 whisper. AA1680, 4227, 2400 and others in that burn rate range seem to work really well for the heavier bullets like the 220-240 gr in the 300 though they'll start getting a bit inconsistent with bullets much lighter. Titegroup has a much faster burn rate than powders typically recommended for. Alliant 300mp seems to show promise for super sonic loadings. Lil'gun is better for supersonic stuff than subs in my experience. Its not a powder that likes much if any open space in the cartridge. Its not so much an issue of blowing things up though it is possible but more an issue of really poor consistency with velocity. I'm running a 9.5' Rainier barrel and an Octaine 45 suppressor if that makes any difference. H110 is a great powder for magnum pistol stuff when you can cram it in and compress lightly but its absolute crap for reduced charges. I'm starting to load 300 blackout and looking for the best bullet weight, powder type/grains for sub sonic suppressed. Anyone ever has success with this powder So far 4. I cast re-loads for my other pistols and rifles so I can take the original bullets, melt them down with some harder lead and re-pour something at a later date.While you can use any bullet weight you want it gets less and less simple to work up loads as you go lighter. They also stated that they wanted feedback from anyone who will be trying out these bullets in case they need to make any more changes. This is great news and I am a happy camper. The email stated that they wanted to be the "go to" supplier for subsonic cast bullets for the 300 Blackout group. This evening I received a very nice email from Missouri Cast Bullets that stated that they had had more conversations with the fellow that did all of their testing and he stated that they should change the BHN from 12 to 18 and that they have already shipped me a new supply of the 245 cast free of charge! Im down to 2.12 and they chamber more reliably and I havent needed to reduce the powder load because of over pressure signs. Found out fairly quickly that 2.26 is to long to reliably fit in the Pmag and then to load from the Pmag. Accurate 1680 was perfect in my 16" barrel, cycled well and made for some 1.5 MOA at 100 yards. Re: Load Data for IMR 4198 in 300 BlackOut. I spent most of Monday and Tuesday morning making up different loads and found that 9.5 gr. I ordered the 245 grain cast bullets from Missouri Cast last Friday and they arrived this past Monday.
